Breastfeeding/chestfeeding your baby is a beautiful and wonderful choice to make. It offers a plethora of health benefits and is an incredible way to bond with your baby. Having breastfed both of my babies, I can really appreciate the power of making this choice.

However, feeding doesn’t always go to plan. Like birth, there are a variety of potential challenges that may appear. Here’s how I can support you…

Emotional support

Breastfeeding can bring up a whole host of emotions. From feeling touched out, to frustrated with our bodies, to just generally needing to vent to someone who understands. Not everyone is lucky to have a village around them and so this is a key part of the service that I offer.

From supporting you with a wealth of resources and information, I’m also here to hold your hand and listen to you as you work through your journey.

I take some of the principles of mindset reframing from hypnobirthing and often sessions will include some relaxations, affirmations and more to help you with your mental state. Feedback from these sessions is always brilliant.

Physical support

Whilst not a qualified lactation consultant, I do have a wealth of training to support women with their breastfeeding/chestfeeding challenges. From guidance around feeding positions, using pumps, dealing with engorgement and more.

The early days of feeding come with a wealth of hurdles for many parents. Having a friendly, understanding face to support you as you work through these can be the difference between a shorter period of time feeding, and a feeding relationship that lasts much longer.

Costs

Many parents build this aspect of my services into a bespoke postnatal package. However, if you need this support in isolation it is typically charged at £25 an hour. A small surcharge for travel may be charged for short sessions/longer distances, but this is agreed at the point of booking.
